Parquet Flooring & Mahogany Herringbone Flooring
At MM Parquet and Carpentry was thrilled to take on the next project in the beautiful area of Gowran in Co Kilkenny, as it involved more intricate and detailed work than our usual projects. The scope of this project included supplying and fitting a new parquet floor, as well as revamping an old salvaged mahogany herringbone floor.
Firstly, we began by carefully selecting the best quality parquet flooring materials for the new floor which was our solid parquet flooring. We wanted to ensure that the new floor would perfectly complement the existing design of the old, salvaged floor space. We paid close attention to details such as the wood pattern, colour, and finish to create a stunning result.
Next, we meticulously installed the new parquet flooring , paying special attention to the precise positioning and alignment of each piece. Our experienced carpenters worked with utmost precision to achieve a flawless and seamless appearance.
One potential issue with salvaged parquet flooring is that the individual pieces may be warped, cracked, or stained. This can make it challenging to achieve a smooth and uniform finish. In some cases, it may be necessary to replace damaged pieces with new ones or to fill in cracks and gaps with wood filler.
The salvaged parquet flooring that we had to tackle to restore its original beauty and durability involves sanding down the surface, removing any old finish or stains, and applying a new wax oil. However, it is important to note that refinishing salvaged parquet flooring can be more challenging than refinishing new flooring, as the wood may be more delicate and prone to damage.
Overall, unforeseen circumstances can arise during the repair of any salvaged parquet flooring due to its age and condition. It is important to carefully assess the flooring, plan accordingly, and be prepared for potential challenges to achieve the desired results. The result was a beautiful parquet flooring matched up perfectly to the original salvaged herringbone that had been fitted years earlier.
Additionally, we took on the challenge of revamping an old salvaged mahogany herringbone floor. This required extensive restoration work to bring the floor back to its former glory. Our skilled craftsmen carefully repaired and replaced any damaged or missing pieces of the herringbone pattern. Then when sanded and refinished the entire floor, enhancing its natural beauty and durability.
Throughout the project, being done in the stunning county of Kilkenny, we ensured that every step was carried out with the utmost care and attention to detail. Our goal was to exceed our client’s expectations and deliver a finished product that would stand the test of time.
